College Athletic Facility Flooring Upgrade

System: Urethane Cement with Decorative Flake Epoxy and Urethane Topcoat
Peckham Coatings was selected to upgrade the locker room flooring in a college athletic stadium, revitalizing worn and deteriorating surfaces with a durable, decorative flake epoxy system. The project included both men’s and women’s locker rooms, as well as the adjoining shower areas, with a focus on aesthetics, hygiene, and long-term performance.
Surface preparation included full mechanical grinding using diamond grinders, along with crack chasing and repair to ensure a smooth, solid substrate. We installed a urethane cement base layer with a flake broadcast to provide strength and moisture mitigation, followed by another full flake broadcasts, a clear epoxy coat, and a urethane finish coat for added durability and chemical resistance. The system is slip-resistant and easy to maintain—ideal for high-traffic athletic environments.
To align with the school’s branding, the decorative flake blend was custom-matched to the college’s colors. A custom logo was also embedded in the floor, delivering a polished, team-branded finish. The client was extremely pleased with both the appearance and the quality of the work, noting the transformation from outdated flooring to a high-performance, visually striking surface.
