Epoxy Wall Coatings
There are many benefits to epoxy wall coating applied over a properly prepared surface. Like all high-performance systems, the surface to which the coating is being applied must be clean, free of loose coatings and mechanically scarified. The scarification not only removes contaminated concrete
but creates a surface profile for the new coating to adhere to. When applied in this manner epoxy wall coatings have many benefits.
but creates a surface profile for the new coating to adhere to. When applied in this manner epoxy wall coatings have many benefits.
- Impermeable-bacteria or other contaminants cannot penetrate the surface.
- Sanitary: Epoxy walls are easy to wash and keep clean.
- Chemical resistance: Epoxy walls are not harmed by most chemicals and protect the surface underneath from deterioration.
- Impact and abrasion resistance: high performance epoxies are over 10,000 psi in compressive strength, which is roughly 2.5 times stronger than concrete
- Light reflectivity: Epoxy walls greatly improve light reflectivity. This makes for a more productive and safer work place.
- For long term color and gloss retention, we recommend a final coat of polyurethane or polyaspartic. These coatings do not yellow or discolor over time and retain a high gloss level.
